ORDERING TRANSFORMATION OF γ TO γ1 IN TiAl+Nb SYSTEM
WANG JINGUO, CHEN GUOLIANG, and  YE HENGQIANG
1995, vol. 2, no. 1, pp. 1-6.
Abstract:
A series of TiAl+Nb alloys with various Nb contents has been employed to explore phase relationship and the evolution of microstructure.A new ordered γ derivative (γ1) has been observed in the alloy containing 20 at% Nb.The additional diffraction spots added to the diffraction pattern of L10 (TiAl) structure have been found in the alloy containing Nb up to 11 at% in terms of further ordering. The transformation from L10 (TiAl) structure to the further ordering phase,γ1,is a continuous ordering process with the substitution of Nb atoms for Ti atoms in alloys with over-stoichiometric Al content of TiAl.The possible transformtion characterzation has been discussed.

Abstract:
The equation which reflects the relationship between the retained austenite and strain has been proposed and clear TRIP can be obtained while the S value (An index of retained austenite stability) is less than 6.5 for Silicon-Manganese TRIP steel

DISCRIMINATION BETWEEN LONG SLAG AND SHORT SLAG
CHU SHAOJUN, LIU HAIHONG, DIAO SHUSHENG, and  XU TING
1995, vol. 2, no. 1, pp. 19-23,34.
Abstract:
Based on observed η vs T relationships for silicate melts and CaF2-based slag melts, the Rmin is raised to discriminate between long slag and short slag by quoting the mathematical concept of curvature radius. The Rmin values of the smallest curvature radius of η vs T plot implicate the apparent activation energy Eη,hemispherical softening point temperature T0 and viscosity ηR at the character temperature TR. Using CaF2 and SiO2 as reference standard of short slag and long slag respectively, the classification of slags has been made. Calculation of Rmin for flux or slag is of significance in ESR, protective casting and welding.
STRESS ANALYSIS OF ROLL RING FOR HIGH SPEED WIRE ROLLING MILLS
WANG BANGWEN
1995, vol. 2, no. 1, pp. 24-30.
Abstract:
This paper introduces a new method for fixing type of the tungsten carbide roll ring for high speed wire rolling mills, and analyses the stresses of the roll ring. The lifetime of roll pass is twice longer that of the old one.
RELIABILITY OF AEROCRAFT GEAR FATIGUE STRENGTH
TAN JIAZHEN, BIAN XINXIAO, and  WANG XIAOQUN
1995, vol. 2, no. 1, pp. 31-34.
Abstract:
With the method of group test, fourty pairs of carburization-quenching gears made from 16NCD13 steel for aerocraft were tested to research the contacting fatigue strength on tooth flank. As a result, the samples of fatigue life at the moments when the pitting appears and reaches failure criterion were obtained at four stressing levels respectively. The distribution rule of fatigue life were distinguished, and the distribution parameters were estimated by statistical analysis. Based on that, the R-S-N curves with confidence 95% of contacting fatigue on gear tooth flank were evaluated. Therefore, the basic data were provided for the reliability design of the gears and prediction of their life.
GENERAL COMPUTER MODEL FOR SHEET METAL DEEP-DRAWING PROCESS
DENG ZHI and  WANG XIANJIN
1995, vol. 2, no. 1, pp. 35-43.
Abstract:
A new comprehensive computer model was developed for sheet metal deep-drawing process, based on the theory of plastic anisotropy and under consideration of the effects of bending, blank-holding force, strain-hardening, the variation of thickness and tooling geometry. The model could be used to simulate the deforming stages of deep-drawing process and get the continuous distributions of stress and strain from the radial drawing region of material over a die and the stretch-forming region of material over a punch. It is concluded that the total strain theory can be used as a substitute for the incremental strain theory to analyse the force and deformation in sheet metal deep-drawing process. In addition, the effect of bending was also obtained.
MICROSTRUCTURAL CHARACTERISTICSAND OXIDATION BEHAVIOR OFTi1-xAlxN PVD-COATINGS
MA ZHONGTING and  NI RUIMING
1995, vol. 2, no. 1, pp. 44-49.
Abstract:
Recent research on microstructural characteristics and oxidation behavior of Ti1-xAlxN thin film were surveyed. The Ti1-xAlxN coatings have three different phase regions, Bl structure for lower x value, wurtzite structure for higher x value and unidentified structure for medium x value. Based upon the selective oxidation mechanism the oxidation results of Ti1-xAlxN thin film with different Ti/Al ratio were predicated.

1995, vol. 2, no. 1, pp. 50-56.
Abstract:
There is a great potential of energy saving in bipolar cells. Based on research for several years, a theoretical analysis of energy saving in bipolar cells is given, and some practical data presented.
SEEBECK EFFECT IN OXYGEN PROBE USED FOROXYGEN DETERMINATION IN LIQUID STEEL
HUANG KEQIN, XIA YUHUA, and  LIU QINGGUO
1995, vol. 2, no. 1, pp. 57-62.
Abstract:
Heat conduction in oxygen probe was analyzed by means of non-steady state method and measured using "double probe" arrangement. The results showed that during the response process the thermal emf was decreased exponentially with the time and in case of low oxygen level the Seebeck coefficient and thermal conductivity of solid electrolyte agreed well with those in literatures.
THREE- DIMENSIONAL PERIODICITY ANDTENFOLD ROTATIONAL SYMMETRY
MIN LEQUAN and  WU YUZHEN
1995, vol. 2, no. 1, pp. 63-70.
Abstract:
Electron-diffraction pattern with "tenfold rotational symmetry" of Al-Fe alloyphase is assumed to be produced by periodic structure. One 3D periodic structure is presentedbased on so-called C polyhedra. The structure can be used as atomic model to describethe Al-Fe alloy phase. The Fourier transform patterns of the model are in good agreementwith the corresponding electron-diffraction patterns. Several other models with "tenfold symmetry" Fourier transform patterns have briefly been mentioned.
